LIFEHACKS AND TIPS

Everyone has a different level of knowledge when it comes to internet security, so we’ve divided the tips into two categories:

  • General  Tips: Simple yet effective steps for beginners.

  • Advanced Tips: For those looking to enhance their protection with more sophisticated methods.

General Tips:

  • Be cautious of offers that seem "too good to be true." If something sounds overly enticing (e.g., sudden winnings or lucrative investments), it’s likely a scam.

  • Trust but verify. Even if a message looks official, double-check its source through an official website or hotline.

  • Don’t rush to make decisions. Scammers often create a sense of urgency ("Act now or lose money!"). Take a moment to think things through.

  • Be mindful of what you post online. Avoid sharing overly personal information, even if it seems harmless.

  • Check your social media privacy settings. Make your profiles private and limit access to your information.

  • Don’t add strangers as friends, and thoroughly verify requests, even from people you know.

  • Never share card numbers, passwords, or other sensitive information, even if someone close to you asks. Call them to confirm the request is legitimate.

  • Beware of attachments and downloads. Never open files from unknown senders; they may contain malware.

  • Educate your loved ones. Help elderly family members or children understand basic safety rules.

Advanced Tips:

  • Practice digital hygiene: regularly update passwords, use strong combinations, and enable two-factor authentication.

  • Verify QR codes. Make sure they come from official sources to avoid malicious replacements.

  • Use a separate card for online shopping, such as a prepaid or virtual card, to minimize risks.

  • Be cautious when using public Wi-Fi networks. Never enter passwords or personal information on unsecured connections. Use a VPN instead.

  • Regularly use data breach monitoring services to check if your information has been compromised.

  • Don’t trust personal photos or videos on social media. If someone asks for money—even if you recognize their face—contact them through another method to verify the request.

  • Use tools to analyze suspicious messages, links, or accounts, such as ScamAIzer.

Core Components of AI

  • Machine Learning (ML): A subset of AI where systems learn from data and improve over time without explicit programming. It enables predictive modeling and decision-making.

  • Natural Language Processing (NLP): A branch of AI that allows machines to understand and process human language for communication and analysis.

  • Computer Vision: An AI field focused on enabling computers to interpret visual data like images and videos for decision-making.
